Wylye Village Hall is the perfect location for parties (both grown up and child), wedding receptions, lectures, quiz nights, exercise classes, charity sales, auctions, events after church services and so much more.  We currently offer the following regular, weekly classes - a baby and toddler group, karate, pilates, bridge and morris dancing - and have space for more, particularly on week days and on Saturday morning.

The recently renovated hall has a fully-equipped kitchen (we also hire out our tables and chairs, in addition to 3 large square gazebos and 1 enormous rectangular one).

Late Summer 2023 - A quick Hall update

As you cannot have failed to notice due to the excellent marketing around the place, the ever-wonderful Fete is coming up, 2-5pm on Saturday the 9th Sept, for the first time since 2019.  I know the Fete Team is working hard on behalf of the Village in many areas, but in particular as follows:

The Bottle and Sweetie stalls are requesting donations.  Any kind of bottle is great, but no chocolates please (waaaay too melty!) for the Sweetie stall.  Donations can be made at the Shop (many thanks to them for being a willing collection point) and there will also be collections made from houses round the village on the evenings of the 4th and 5th Sept.

The Book stall is still after more books (Richard Newell on 07966 261564 is the man to talk to about those).

The Bric a Brac team are very keen for more good quality items. (Call a Fishwick - Jane or John - on 07813 683777, or a Watson - Simon or Kathy - on 07303 581491, to arrange dropping off or getting them to collect.)

The Cake stall will happily take all the cakes/biscuits/bakes you can throw at them.  Please contact Caroline Lewis on 07974 777881 to make a plan.

I'd like to take this chance to thank the Fete Team for their efforts on behalf of both the Hall and the Village, it is brilliant that the Fete is back at last.  Many thanks too, to all who get involved in any way in the planning, execution and clear-up of this special day. I look forward to seeing you there - I'm manning the Pimms stand!

Looking further ahead, events-wise, specifically in the Hall.

Piers Williams is organising a wonderful live music evening on Saturday 23rd Sept at 7pm, with Tim Hextall's band, Hickory Moon, playing some cracking Country music and Caroline Lewis cooking supper for you.  Please see wylyevillage.org/livemusic for more details.

On Saturday 14th October at 7pm the Quiz is back, (this time with Curry instead of Chilli - wild eh?) but with the Hall all gussied up and the same great vibe and not-hideously painful questions as usual.  We'd love to see you there!  Please see wylyevillage.org/quiz for details.

Please reserve tickets in advance via this email address for both the above events, it helps so much with getting in the right amount of food.

Hiring Hall Kit

Please note that, from 1st Sept, all Hall equipment is available to hire.  From tables and chairs and kitchen equipment to our wonderful 3x3m and 3x6m gazebos.  Please note well that it is essential that, in order to keep track of our kit and make sure it is available to hirers, hiring requests MUST be made via wylyevillagehall@gmail.com, please.  Current key-holders are requested not to lend keys out without first checking with the Hall Team that kit is booked.  See this flyer for further information and prices.

Regular Classes at the Hall

With Bridge, Karate, Pilates, Wylye Monkeys, coffee mornings and Morris Dancing, there's a lot going on in the Hall (click here for details).  But there's always space for more regular hirers - in particular on Thursdays and Fridays.  Please recommend the Hall, with its perfectly flat new floor and fully-equipped kitchen etc, to anyone you can think of who might have need of such a great space on a regular basis - be it for yoga or chess or knitting or art classes or whatever!

Many thanks for reading and I hope the update has been helpful.  The Hall Team are looking forward to seeing you at the Fete on the 9th, the live music on the 23rd and the Quiz on the 14th Oct.
